OWNCS2 PTO General Meeting Minutes – June

Meeting called to order by: PTO President- Kathy Vergara at 6:35PM

Toussaint-Islam; There were 5 attendees; a quorum was reached
ORDERS OF BUSINESS
I. Events Recap/Updates
a. Financial Update
Current PTO account balance is $2,428
Thank you to all parents for your continued support
b. Muffins for Mom- Mother’s Day event
Event was held on Friday May 24 th
Event went very well. We were able to provide breakfast and photos for
everyone
Event photos will also be posted on Bloomz soon for those who were not able
to attend
c. Small Business Pop-Up
PTO held a small business pop up event for OWN2 students, staff and
families that to showcase their business
Event was held on May 26 th from 12p- 3p in the OWN2 Multipurpose room
The event was very successful. There were many vendors in attendance
There was also a bouncy house, photo booth and more
PTO will likely hold another business pop-up event on a Saturday in
November for a holiday themed shop
d. Donuts with Dad- Father’s Day Event
Event was held on June 20 th in the multipurpose room
Event was very successful and there were many in attendance
Students were all able to say something about their fathers and complete a
craft
Hot breakfast and photos were provided
Photos will be posted on Bloomz soon
e. Summer Send Off Event
PTO partnered with school administration to provide ice cream for all the
students
All the students were able to enjoy their end-of-school year treat
II. School Updates
a. School Supplies
Administration has set up a website where parents can pre-order school
supplies for next school year
All orders must be placed prior to July 14 th

b. Summer Boost Program
Acceptance emails for the school’s Summer Boost program already went out
A townhall meeting will be held via Zoom on Friday June 28 th at 9am to
explain the program and questions
If there are any further questions regarding the summer program, contact Ms.
Wallace or Ms. Buonomo
First day of Summer Boost is scheduled for 7/8/24
III. Reminders
a. Traffic and Congestion – Please remember to be courteous when picking up and
dropping off your child. Do not double and triple park in front of the school building as
this creates an unsafe environment for our students and families
b. School Calendar – Remember to continue checking the school website regularly for
any changes to the school calendar related to Half Days or Holidays
c. Nut-Free School – Please remember, no nut products allowed in the school building
d. Important Dates:
June 28 th – Last Day of School
July 8 th – First Day of Summer Boost
Sept 3 rd - First Day of School
